Does My Website Show Up in AI Answers? Free Checker
Ask an AI assistant about your business and see what it says — then get the gaps that explain why a competitor gets named instead.
AI answer visibility check
Ask AI the way a customer would, and see what it says about you.
You can just ask
The simplest test of AI visibility is the one nobody runs: open ChatGPT, Gemini or a Google search with AI Overviews, and ask the question your customer would ask. "Who is the best mobile mechanic in Geelong?" Watch what comes back. If you are not mentioned, nothing else in this article matters until you are.
Do it in a private window, with no history, so the model is not flattering you based on earlier conversations.
Why a business gets skipped
An AI answer is a summary of evidence it can find. When the evidence is thin, contradictory or hard to parse, the model picks whoever has cleaner evidence — not whoever is better at the job.
- It cannot confirm where you are. Three different addresses across directories reads as uncertainty.
- Nothing independent says you do this. If every mention of your business comes from your own website, there is one source, not several.
- Your services are invisible. If your service list is an image, or hidden behind a tab that needs JavaScript, it may never be read.
- No reviews, or stale ones. Reviews are the clearest public signal that you actually deliver.
- No page for the question. You cannot be the answer to "how much does a retaining wall cost in Perth" if you have never written about it.
What the checker does
Enter your business name, suburb and main service. It asks an AI assistant the same question a customer would, then reports whether you appeared, what was said about you, and which signals are missing. It is a snapshot, not a ranking — AI answers vary between runs and models, which is exactly why the underlying signals matter more than any single result.
Reading the result honestly
If you appear, good — now check whether the description is accurate. Being recommended with the wrong suburb or an old phone number is worse than being absent.
If you do not appear, look at the gaps list. Most businesses find the same two or three things missing: a complete Google Business Profile, consistent business details, and any independent mention. Those are fixable in a fortnight.
The honest limit
No one can guarantee an AI recommendation. Models change, answers vary, and there is no paid placement. What you can do is become the easiest business in your suburb to describe accurately — which is the same thing that makes you win the map pack and the organic results.
